Titcomb Mountain, Farmington
If Central Maine had a crown Titcomb Mountain would be one of its jewels. Located in Farmington Maine Titcomb has been owned and operated by the Farmington Ski Club since 1939.
Over the past several years Central Maine NEMBA has added about 8 miles of purpose built single track. The trail design intertwines this single track among down hill and cross country trails, crossing but not following any of those ski trails. It’s possible to ride almost the entire system without crossing or repeating any of the single track. Switchbacks and grade reversals make the climbs enjoyable and the descents just plain fun.
The trails pack in lots of variety with numerous stonewall crossings and other rock work features. Everything, currently, is rideable without jumps, gaps or surprises, rock solid you might say.
During snow season there's a $5 fee and the trails can only be used by Fat Bikes.
The rest of the year the trails are open to all mountain bikes and there's no charge.
Titcomb hosts a very popular Fat Bike race in the Winter and the Titcomb Mountain Challenge in the summer..
