Seacoast NEMBA Chapter Kick Off Event

What: Come Sunday May 15th to celebrate the new Seacoast NEMBA Chapter with us!

Where: Stratham Hill Park at the 4H Pavilion

270 Portsmouth Ave, Stratham, NH 03885

Why: Ride bikes, Eat Food, Meet great people!

When: 10-2

Updates: Check this Facebook Page.

Plenty of single track, wide open tractor roads and some solid climbing… a place for everyone to ride which is why we chose SHP for our kickoff party!

The trails throughout the network vary in difficulty. There are wide open 'tractor' and old logging roads, to single track climbs and overall the park is not very technical.

There are three hills (Stratham, Jewell and Long) that can get the heart rate up and offer a sweet reward on the other side.

All rides start at 10:30am. All rides are no drop. Helmets and a bike in good working condition are required.

Family/kid ride-

Come enjoy 2-3 miles of mostly flat non technical ride with little to no roots. There is some gravel we will be riding over. There is a pump track that could be incorporated as well if there is interest. This will be a family social pace winding around the park.

Beginner ride-

6-8 miles of riding smooth dirt, roots and one longer climb up a hill on smooth terrain. The pace will be social with stops to make sure everyone has made it over any rooty sections. Walking your bike over anything you doin't feel comfortable with is recommended. All bikes are equipped with a hiker!

Intermediate ride-

8-10 miles of a faster pace ride over roots, rocks and climbs. Some level of fitness would be beneficial. Still a no drop ride and we wait for everyone at all intersections with some stops along the trail if needed to bring everyone back together.

Advanced ride-

10-12 miles of a fast pace, less stopping ride over rocky and rooty hills. Climbing all 3 hills in the park. No drop ride with stopping at all intersections; just riding faster on the trail.

Being a NEMBA member is not required to join a ride. If you haven't signed your waiver for the kickoff party yet, please do so here:

Description

Pease Town Forest is the oldest town forest in the United States.

Incorporated 1710, within it is nestled over 8 miles of high-quality, fast, flowy and fun singletrack.

Originally used by residents for firewood, hunting and grazing, now, more than 300 years later, it's become conservation land.

Placed between the north end of Pease ANGB's airfield and the historic downtown of Newington, the trails don't make sense for the average walker or hiker.

But they come perfectly together on two wheels - they were cut with mountain biking mind.

It is a very unique spot as the southern tip of the Camel Humps trail abuts the North Ramp of the Air Force base, with clear views of the aircraft taking off and landing at the mixed-used airport.

Expect to have jet engines interrupt the peace and quiet of the forest. Read more about [node:title]

Seacoast

Our Chapter serves the New Hampshire Seacoast.

Our mission is simply, to make mountain biking in our region the best that it can be!

Many of us use mountain bikes not only as a hobby, but as a tool to escape and reset from our busy and stressful world.

We are all better humans after a good ride!

We owe it to our younger generations to leave the trails better than we found them.

Every activity we host or promote will lay the building blocks for future riders.

If we do our job right they will be inspired and prepared to look after the trails long after us old folks are gone.

A strong trail system builds a well-balanced community, families, and economy.

We have many small towns in our geographic region including the core towns of Durham, Dover, Madbury, Lee, Newmarket, Rochester, Barrington, Rollinsford, Newington, Portsmouth, and Rye and more coming.

Seacoast NEMBA was re-formed in January of 2022.
