SE MA NEMBA ADAMS FARM RIDE (postponed due to wet conditions)
Adams Farm to Rocky Woods
The next SEMass NEMBA ride at Adams Farm will be taking advantage of our 8:15PM sunset. This ride will be going to Rocky Woods and back.
We’ll be meeting at the Adam’s Farm barn in Walpole Monday July 19 at 5 PM with wheels down NLT 5:15 PM.
This is a long ride. Including the warmup, we’ll be riding 15 - 20 miles for OVER 2 hours of riding.
You must be an experienced rider in good condition, must be able to stay with the group, and sustain a fun pace over a long distance.
This is not a hammerfest but it is not a beginner ride either. I ride to have fun.
Adams Farm, Red Gate and Fork Factory are mostly single track. Rocky Woods is mostly double track but with a fair amount of climbing. The descents are super fun and the terrain is beautiful.
The route will cross Adams Farm, hit the Red Gate Farm conservation area, traverse about a mile of residential roads, re-enter the trails at Fork Factory Brook, then cross Hartford Street to enter into Rocky Woods. We’ll zig zag about 6 miles of trails in Rocky Woods before heading back more or less the same route. Bring a well-maintained bike, lots of water, bug spray, and a little food. We should return about 8PM.
Anyone who wants can join me for a post-ride brew at Castle Island Brewing Co. They close at 9PM.
You don't have to be a member to attend this ride, but you must have pre-signed NEMBA's Annual Waiver.
