Blackstone Valley NEMBA Introduction to Riding Series.

Here’s something NEW for you! If you’re NEW to mountain biking or NEW to the Blackstone Valley chapter we’re putting together a monthly NEWbie ride for you at West Hill Dam in Uxbridge.

The rides will primarily be aimed at beginner riders but depending on the ratio of ride leaders to riders we may be able to accommodate other levels.

The total numbers of riders will be capped to allow for a better experience and to not overrun WHD with mountain bikers.

Four rides are planned. 6/27, 7/25, 8/22 & 9/26

   You do not have to be a member of NEMBA to attend, but everyone must have signed NEMBA's Annual Waiver.

Blackstone Valley NEMBA Tuesday Morning Ride Series

This ride series will explore many of the riding areas in our region.

The rides will be fun, no-drop rides but are probably not for beginners.

The rides will start at 9:00 AM, but try to arrive by 8:45 so that we can get going on time.

You do not have to be a member of NEMBA to go on these rides. 

But you do have to have signed NEMBA's annual waiver before you attend the first one.

Ride Headquarters Full Moon Over Sherborn Ride

Full Moon Over Sherborn - Flower Moon Tuesday, May 25

Tuesday, May 25 at 7:30pm is the next Full Moon mixed terrain ride starting at Ride Studio / Ride Headquarters in Sherborn. The best mixed terrain riding is found at night under the Full Moon.

Bring your gravel, cyclocross, mountain or fat bike to the ride! Any bike with 35mm knobby tires or bigger will have fun. The bigger, the better as we will be on all surfaces. Bring a mask, it's easy to ride far enough apart such that we are able to stay safe.

After the ride, we enjoy cold drinks outside, socially distanced but it's easy to enjoy a good conversation in the fresh air! 

We ask all to RSVP, please email  , so we know you will be coming. We will email all who RSVP with any last-minute details by 5pm before the ride.

   Be sure to sign NEMBA's Annual Waiver. (But you only have to sign it once.)

Trail Mix Gravel Ride Series is Back!

Join us for incredibly beautiful cycling on dirt roads, quiet paved back roads, and gentle dirt trails of New Hampshire!

This ride is a gorgeous loop, starting and ending in New Boston, New Hampshire. We've ridden here a lot and have found an exceptional number of friendly people in the town and along the route.

 

We’re offering three fully-supported locations on the ride: one at the start, one mid-ride full of your favorite packaged bike foods, water and Ride Studio Iced Mochas, and post-ride, we'll have a filling meal for you to enjoy.



 

Ride Details:

  • Ride Type: Remote paved and dirt roads, social distance riding
  • Time & Date: Saturday, May 22. The first rider rolls out at 7:30 am
  • Starting Point: New Hampshire
  • Distance: 104 km, 65 miles

Your Registration includes:

  • A gorgeous, well-planned route: You’ll receive a well-vetted route file for your GPS computer, parking directions/instructions.
  • Staffed starting location with friendly faces, water, bike tools, portable toilets.
  • Staffed food stop with water, packaged bike food, Ride Studio Cafe Iced Mochas.
  • If you're riding alone, you have the peace of mind knowing there are other riders on the same route.
  • Route support via a cyclist riding sweep - you won't be the last rider.
  • You can ride this with your friends, as long as you and your friends register telling us this.
  • Substantial lunch at the end of the ride of delicious, just-prepared food that will hit the spot!

We have capped registration numbers and based on last year's attendance at these Trail Mix rides, we expect to be full by the end of the weekend. Don't miss out - register ASAP!

2021 Blackstone Valley NEMBA Best Dam Ride @ West Hill Dam

Come and enjoy some of the best singletrack the valley has to offer with multiple arrowed routes for all abilities.  We are setting up at the beach pavilion this year with food, live music, and raffle prizes.  Some of your favorite local bike shops will also be present.  

  • Early Registration (ends 9/17) - $20 For existing members only - Also gets you a raffle ticket
  • Late Registration/Non-Members  - $25  - Online Registration closes 10/15
  • Kids 15 and under ride free with a registered parent or guardian.

Description

The Trout Brook Recreation area is a 660 acre conservation parcel managed by the Town of Holden.

The parking area above on Manning Street is just a few hundred yards north of the Mass Central Rail Trail.

The best description of the are is on the Town's website.  But note: The address is incorrect. 

In addition to trails, the recreation area also has a picnic area and lodge which can be rented.

There are trails on both sides of Manning Street. All the trails are fun to ride and easy to follow. A few will challenge you technically but for the msot part they are perfect for mixed ability rides.

In all there are over 16 miles of trails.

Description

The Rayburn Trails located in Millbury Massachusetts offer some of the most enjoyable convoluted riding experience anywhere.

Its formal name is the Colton Road Conservation Area and it abuts the 179 acre Martha Deering WMA.

In total the two imterlinked properties hold over 24 miles of moderatly technical trails most of which are in the 59 acre Colton Road Area.

The best descriptions of these trails are on the maps at the top of this page.

You'll enjoy riding here, but expect to test your tech riding skiils.

Description

The Delaney Wildlife Management area consists of 577 acres of conservation land originally designed as a flood control project.

It's frequently referred to as the Delaney Flood Control Project it's managed by the Massachusett Department of Fisheries and Wildlfie.

The trails are really fun.

The best place to park is on Finn Road in Harvard. From here you'll find trails on both sides of the road. 

The area north of Finn Road is larger and consists of some very smooth flat trails and also intermediate and a few advanced trails. I'd recommend that beginners and families try these trails first.

Alternative parking for the flattest/easiest of these trails starts at the boat ramp parking lot.

The area south of Finn Road is more technical, though not overly so. You'll enjoy riding over a lot of roots, but there are no big drops.

One trail has a steep downhill/uphill at a bridged stream crossing. A few trails end in dead ends at private property boundaries, but most loop around.
