Midcoast Maine NEMBA Trail Day

Saturday November 13: Re-Building the wooden drops on Hornswaggle below the top of the double chairlift at the Camden Snowbowl.

Meet at 8:30 in Tobogannon-ville.

The goal is to build 3 progressive height drops with a predictable landing zone and a berm at the bottom to help direct riders to the next portion of trail.

Design of this is ongoing, and we would love input from riders who use, built or have modified these in the past.

Nolan Steele will be leading this project.

MC NEMBA Trail Day

Date

11/6/21 (All day)

McMaine NEMBA Trail Day

When: Saturday November 6, @ 8:30

Where: Tobogannon-ville, Camden Snow Bowl

Please come and join us for another chance to get dirty on the mountain!
Meet us at 8:30 at CSB Tobogannon-ville parking lot.

We made great progress last week before the deluge, and most of our work is intact and ready for finish work.

We'll hike up the hill (you can bring your bike if you can figure out how to attach buckets or tools to it).

We will be working just above Freebooter, lateral to the lookout ski trail and below the mainsail crosscut.

We have dirt to move drainages to tune, more dirt to move and compact, etc.

If we have a huge turnout, we'll take some splinter groups to address some blowouts from the storm last weekend, but it's not as bad as you might think!

We'll wrap up at 12:30. Sign the waiver for the year if you haven't yet:

Thanks and see you on the hill!

Skills Ride

If you want to acquire the skills and maneuvers that will help you ride better and have more fun on your mountain bike, come join us in the UMaine DeMerritt Forest on Saturday October 16th for a skills ride led by PRNEMBA member Emmy Monahan!

We will meet at the Old Town Elementary School, 576 Stillwater Avenue, Old Town. The ride starts at 2:00pm.

The goal of the skills ride is to help you understand mountain biking better so you can take your riding to the next level. Position and balance, operation of controls, trail awareness, direction control, and/or front or rear wheel lift may be among the skills and maneuvers that Emmy will cover. The ride will last about 2 hours.

The ride is geared toward riders new to mountain biking (beginner), riders with limited off-road riding experience (novice), and riders comfortable at slower speeds on trails with roots, rocks and tight single track (intermediate). A bike helmet is mandatory.

You don't have to be a member of NEMBA to participate in the skills ride, but you must have signed NEMBA's Annual Waiver.
