SEMASS Hale Afterburner Report

Wednesday, December 16, 2020

I would like to thank everyone that attended this year’s virtual Afterburner and contributed to Hale’s programs for youths and teens. Feedback was very positive, and we plan to run similar events in the future. Your contributions generated over $1,500 for Hale’s educational and recreational opportunities! We are very proud that SE MASS NEMBA is a partner with Hale. If you have never been to Hale, it’s a fantastic place to ride for all levels of riders. If you missed the Afterburner you can still contribute on their website at

Additionally, we would like to thank the Afterburner event sponsors of Carvalho & Roth Orthodontics, Koopman Lumber, Bikebarn Racing, and Castle Island Brewery.

  • Carvalho & Roth Orthodontics provided funding to SEMASS for recent bridge builds in Hale as well as the Afterburner event. They are a Diamond (Top 1%) Invisalign provider with offices in Marlborough, Newton Centre, Northborough, and the surrounding communities. Please consider Carvahlo & Roth for both youth and adult orthodontic needs. You will also find Dr. Roth on the trails around Hale frequently.
  • Koopman Lumber provided lumber for bridge builds in Hale at significant discounts to SEMASS. They are a local company that provides lumber and hardware to the public and trade with locations in Sharon, Hudson, Andover, Milford, Whitinsville, Uxbridge and North Grafton. Please consider Koopman for your next DIY project or bridge build.
  • Bikebarn racing helped SEMASS get the word out for our Afterburner event. They are a LBS in Whitman providing sales and service of bikes to a large contingent of riders. Don’t hesitate to drop in for anything from a flat tire to a Fat Bike or a new Santa Cruz Tallboy.
  • Castle Island Brewery provided the fuel the volunteers needed for the bridge builds and the event. Located in Norwood, MA just off Rt 1, they have fantastic brews and a progressive tap room. No contact can sales are available online or drop by when the tap room is open. Castle Island will be producing a SEMASS collaboration brew coming out in late January. Pre-sale will be available to current members before the public release. Watch for an email and don’t let your membership expire.

And again, we sincerely want to thank you. We know you have many places to ride and supporting our local parks is a huge tribute to the amazing community of mountain bikers in SEMASS. Thank you!
