SE MA NEMBA Flyway Pond Trail Bridge Build
This Saturday February 27th, we will be moving materials and constructing some boardwalk bridges on the new FlyawayPond Trail, and I'm looking for volunteers.
The materials for this project are being graciously funded by the Easton Conservation Commission, and the project is being supported by NEMBA.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, NEMBA guidelines require that volunteer group sizes be limited to 10 people max.
The Covid-19 guidelines set forth by NEMBA can be found here: https://www.nemba.org/news/nemba-covid-guidance-individual-and-group-rides
In addition I ask that if you feel ill the day of or have any symptoms, or have been in the presence of someone whom has an active covid-19 infection in the last 14 days, please dont come.
The plan for this Saturday will be to move materials in, and if weather/conditions allow - start some building - but the primary focus will be to move materials for the most part.
I only have enough materils delivered pre-cut for a few 12' bridge sections that will actually be built this weekend.
Start time: 9AM Saturday
Meet Location: Meet at trail-head located between 11 & 19 Deer Run Road. On street parking is the way to go, so be courteous to the neighborhood when parking.
Alternatively, you can also park (or ride your bike into) the intersection of Chickadee Lane & Kerry Lane and walk/ride in from there, but the lumber pile will be at Deer Run.
If you want up to date information, please text me at the number listed below. If weather is really wet, I'll send a group text out on Saturday morning at 8ish to try and find a time later in the day. Either way the thawing ground will be wet, so wear your boots & bring gloves & wet weather gear!
For those that have a battery screw gun, a framing hammer and a waterproof bag to put your tools in, please let me know. (contact info below).
Any questions, please feel free to reply to this email, or call me.
Oh! Sign NEMBA's Annual Trail Care Waiver ahead of time if you haven't already done so.
